Later this week the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting at Davos will bring together representatives from business and politics to focus on the agenda, Shaping the Post-crisis World.
Over 2,500 participants from 96 countries will attend - and the discussions will generate acres of newsprint and hours of broadcast and online debate.
While there will be massive focus on the announcements which will come from five days of debate, and the post-event announcements will be examined forensically for signs of progress, compromise and conflict, Davos is not the 'be all and end all' of WEF's activities for the year.
WEF also organises valuable regional conferences and I am delighted that, in the coming year, ACCA will be attending events in Latin America, the Gulf, South Africa and Korea - all of which focus on specific opportunities and challenges in these important regions. We will also be represented at the Annual Meeting of Global Growth Companies in Dalin, China, in the autumn.
If you are an ACCA member who will also be attending these events, please let me know. Our teams would look forward to meeting with you there, and we want to ensure ACCA raises issues of relevance to our global membership during the forums.
