Vignesh began studying with ACCA in January 2006. He gained highest marks in Paper 2.5 in the December 2006 session.
He opted for the ACCA qualification because of its international recognition. Based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Vignesh works for an Indian based exporter coordinating the work for its retail subsidiaries in the UAE:
‘I am currently involved in verification of day to day accounts. I also have to deal with banks and related accounting and accounting for purchase imports. Although designated as trainee accountant my work tasks go far beyond the job title. My seniors, and those I report to, are not based in the UAE although I am supervised locally by a finance professional.’
