Yang began studying for the ACCA Qualification July 2006, taking his first exams in December 2006. He scored the highest marks in Paper 2.3 in the December 2006 sitting and as a result was awarded the individual worldwide paper prize.
‘ACCA appealed to me because of its excellent worldwide reputation and the mutual recognition agreements that it has formed with other professional bodies. I hope that this will be of great benefit to ACCA students and members.’
‘In addition, the ACCA qualification should help me become knowledgeable in a wide variety of areas including accounting, tax, financial management, risk management and corporate governance, all of which are essential to a qualified accountant.’
Based in China, Yang is currently a full-time graduate student, studying for a masters degree in international economics at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST).
‘I have studied at USST for six years with the first four years as an undergraduate majoring in accounting. I hope to receive my masters degree in 2008.’
In his spare time, Yang took computer programming courses and achieved the certificate of Sun Certified Java Programmer in December 2003.
