Brief views and opinions of the current ACCA website

I visit www.accaglobal.com four or five times a month on average. When I was an ACCA student, I registered for exams and paid the exam entry fees via myACCA and used the website to access learning materials and download past exam papers. Now I use myACCA for making my annual return and updating contact and employment information. As an ACCA student blogger, I usually go to the blog pages to see the comments for my blogs and to make comments.

I feel that the website is well designed and organised, it looks fashionable and very beautiful. The navigation is excellent, and I can easily find the information and materials I’m looking for. And, the functions within myACCA such as personal details updating, payment administration, professional ethics module are all very helpful and user friendly. Even though I have passed the exams, the website can still support me further by keeping me up to date with industry and important accounting technical issues. I often recommend the website to other students.

But I found one thing that can be improved, which is the continuing professional development function. All members are required to undertake relevant CPD to ensure that they maintain and develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today's dynamic and demanding business environment. CPD is very important for the accountancy profession. If the CPD part of the website is enhanced, it will be very helpful to members and affiliates who are required to undertake CPD. And I think more and more affiliates and members want to achieve ACCA’s CPD requirement online. If a function is built to inform visitors which relevant CPD can be undertaken online, it will be even better. So, I hope to see an enhanced online CPD function on the ACCA website in future.

As China is so far away from the UK, traditional mail is not convenient, not safe, and slow. Therefore, I need to rely on a sophisticated website with advanced electronic business functions to pay annual fees and update contact information safely and quickly. The ACCA website is very important for the trainees and members who live in a country which is far from the UK.
