A Practical Experience Record (PER) explanation seminar will be held on 30 January 2008 in Shanghai. Mr Rhys Johnson, ACCA’s head of Education and Development in ASEAN and Australia, will deliver the seminar to explain the newly-launched PER system and the working theory behind it.
The seminar will help a lot of ACCA trainees and affiliates who confuse PER related questions such as, ‘What is Practical Experience Record (PER)?’, ‘What is the Trainee Development Matrix (TDM) online?’, and ‘Who could become a workplace mentor?’
PER is a key component of the ACCA Qualification. In order to meet ACCA’s PER, you must complete 36 months in a relevant role and also demonstrate that you have achieved the required number of performance objectives. PER is important, as it helps you to apply in practice the knowledge and techniques gained through your studies towards the ACCA exams; helps you to observe and be involved in real-life work situations that help you to develop the skills, attitudes and behaviors that you will need to possess as a qualified accountant; and it can also help you to develop your judgment, encouraging you to reflect on the quality of your work and how you may improve your work performance in the future.
To help you plan and record your PER, you can access your own personal TDM through myACCA. The TDM is an online tool developed specifically for ACCA trainees (students and affiliates). It will help you through every stage and maintain a virtual CV, charting your employment and career progress. You will need to use it to complete your PER annual return.
